In August 2018, the Shenzhen Municipal Government celebrated the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up by organizing a grand evening event and a spectacular light show titled "The Glorious New Era, The Most Beautiful Shenzhen Bay." The lighting renovation highlighted the theme, essence, and profound significance of reform and opening-up, divided into four chapters: "City of Mountains and Seas," "Window of Reform," "Capital of Innovation," and "Mirror of Harmony." This fully showcased the city's inclusive and diverse character, reflecting Shenzhen's open and tolerant urban spirit and qualities.
